World Rythms Butanese Dance Ensemble
This program serves elementary, middle and high school students as they are exposed via instruction to varied world cultures through dance. Cultures explored will be those represented in the Lynn community, i.e., including, but not limited to the Hispanic, Asian, African/Caribbean Jewish and less visible Eastern European, such as members of the Bosnian and Arabic communities. Throughout the year, Groove students will be instructed by resident artists, about the specific culture in which they’ll teach cultural dances. Sixty minute classes will be held twice a week, and will take place over the school vacations. The end goal will be to have all cultural dance groups perform on stage as part of the Youth Outreach – International Performing Arts Festival.
