The project also includes a focus on song writing and music production through Introduction to Song Writing and Technology classes that offer instruction, teaching students how to create their own music compositions by integrating music theory and song writing principles through the use of computers and specialized software.  The program includes  hours of class time; several hours of rehearsal and at least one hour of concert presentation.  Students use electronic keyboards to practice theory techniques, create and produce individual music compositions.  Students utilize a virtual  recording studio using laptops to record and mix compositions they’ve created.
